Natalie Portman Is a Runaway Bride in Gorgeous Dior Ad
Dutch Director Anton Corbijn Captures Actor, and South of France, at Their Most Appealing
Feb 04, 2015
Natalie Portman plays a runaway bride in her latest film for Miss Dior, sumptuously shot in the south of France and capturing both the actor and the Mediterranean scenery at their most appealing.
The film, directed by Dutch photographer and film director Anton Corbijn through Black Label productions, opens in black and white on Ms. Portman's wedding day. She tells a hotel busboy she's "still Miss" rather than "Madame," and joins her father to walk down the aisle. However, she jilts the groom at the last minute, running off joyously to join a mysterious lover in a helicopter as she discards her couture wedding dress for a slinky black sheath. Throughout, the film toggles between black and white and color, to illustrate Ms. Portman's wavering commitment to her nuptials.
Shot in Antibes, France, between the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc and the surrounding countryside, the spot is Mr. Corbijn's first commercial; his previous work includes feature films such as "Control" and "A Most Wanted Man" as well as overseeing the visual output for U2 and Depeche Mode for almost three decades.
