A dad's unfortunate encounter with a ladybug turns into viral gold in Samsung Galaxy ad
Spot from Leo Burnett Israel shows the importance of having the right phone camera handy
Editor's Pick
You never quite know when something random will happen that could end up being viral internet gold. So, better have a decent phone camera on you.
That's the message of this spot for Samsung's Galaxy S21, which is set to the famously chaotic Rimsky-Korsakov musical score "Flight of the Bumblebee." In this case it's not a bumblebee but a ladybug that sets off the chaos, flying into a father's shirt as he hoses the lawn. His resulting gyrations inspire all the local kids to whip out their phones—they know exactly what's at stake. The ad then does a good job of demonstrating the various features of the Galaxy S21, including "vlogger mode" and "director's view," as they capture his goofy dance.
Eran-Shushu Spanier of Green Productions directed the spot, which was created out of Leo Burnett Israel.
