German electronics retailer Media Markt is on a mission to convert soccer fans all over into supporters of its home team. The marketer, along with Ogilvy & Mather Germany has launched its "Schlandification" campaign, which attempts to assert the German team's influence on nations around the world. It launches with this prank set in Italy, where locals were invited to do their wash for free at a neighborhood laundromat, as long as their national jersey was thrown into the mix.

When their goods were clean, however, they pulled out an unexpected surprise.

The campaign will continue with other countries and can be followed on Tumblr and Facebook.
