Last year, Corona welcomed the summer with a pair of beautiful ads in which Winter, personified, reads a longing love letter to the warmer season. This time around, it's all about break-ups, with two new spots in which people part ways with those things that are holding them back from enjoying summer's delights.
Created out of The Community and directed by Skunk's Paul Minor, they show how one former couch potato has a talk with his sofa to say he's leaving to chase the sun and a dream and how another 9-to-5er tells his alarm clock, "It's not you, it's me" so he can hang with the sun and the moon. "I don't want you waking me up while I'm living the dream," he says.
While the ads, like much advertising today, continue to show plenty of free-wheeling shots of beautiful Millennials enjoying themselves, the thoughtful voiceovers bring a refreshing twist to the category.
