Hendrick's Channels Monty Python in a Quirky Animated Spot
Gin Brand Prides Itself on Eccentric Image Evoking Victoriana
Editor's Pick
Gin brand Hendrick's channels Monty Python's iconic animation style (originally done by Terry Gilliam) in this online spot. Even the message -- to try "something different" --- echoes the British comedians' "And now for something completely different..." catchphrase.
Production/animation house We Were Monkeys created the intricate animation for agency Quaker City Mercantile, and it fits well with the brand's quirky and eccentric identity, including nods to Victoriana. Running on social channels, it's Hendrick's biggest campaign to date. The brand, which the ad describes as "oddly infused with rose and cucumber," is not as traditional as it looks; owners William Grant & Sons launched it just 16 years ago and it has been handled by Quaker City Mercantile since then.
