Dignity Health Surprises Its Nurses With Serenades by a Nashville Singer
Hospital Network Sought Interesting Stories on Social Media
Editor's Pick
Dignity Health, the fifth largest hospital system in the U.S., marked National Nurses Week by getting a Nashville-based musical influencer to serenade its nurses with a song composed of heartfelt thank-you messages from patients and employees.
Creative agency Eleven was behind the project, first using social channels and questionnaires aimed at doctors, nurses and other hospital employees to solicit submissions for anecdotes of standout nurses who went above and beyond for their patients and colleagues.
Every day during Nurses Week, Nashville-based songwriter Ernie Halter, wrote a different stanza based on the stories, performed it live on location, filmed it, and shared broadcast it on Facebook Live to collect more submissions. Each nurse was completely taken by surprise by her song. On the last day the agency stitched together the entire song, performed it on location and shared it live on social.
The serenades took place in cities including Phoenix, Arizona as well Santa Maria, Redwood City, San Bernardino and Sacramento, all in California.
