Pepsi Refresh kickstarts yet another amazing idea. Akestam Holst and Society 46 arranged for a soccer match between visually impaired players and former pro players. Using some amazing tracking technology, the players were able to "see" with sound.
The technology fed the position of each player real-time into an iPhone located on each player's head. It is then converted into binaural 3D sound -- so each player could grasp what is going on on the field by simply listening. More details and videos can be found on the project's website.
