Ads featuring women as being completely befuddled by the very concept of football and its traditions are a dime a dozen. Thankfully, the league itself realizes that it is not only insulting, but also wildly inaccurate, considering that women not only love football, but are actually key purchasing decision makers in many households. Grey New York's powerful new spot features fashion bloggers Lindsay Calla and Jesse Nunez as some of those women wearing jerseys to promote the women's apparel section available from the NFL. Other fierce females featured are DJ Kiss, pro skateboarder Lorena Lima, Michelle and Landry Witten wife and daughter of Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, as well as Vernet Farmer whose husband is former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Ray Farmer.
Directed by Henry Alex-Rubin out of Smuggler, the commercial is set to Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh's speech from 2009 which spoke of the hearts of lions, and went on to say: "And everyone's talking about what we couldn't do, and what we wouldn't do and what we shouldn't do, right? You did it week after week, day after day."
