Keith 'Suburban' Urban microwaves a burrito and trims his hedges in Spotify's latest ad

Spot from 'Music for Every Mood' campaign shows the celebrity enjoying the normal things in life

Earlier this year, Spotify showed us how it easily integrates into people’s everyday (sometimes embarrassing) lives in hilarious spots starring a guy singing in a shower, a woman in hangover recovery and more, in its campaign promoting how the platform offers “Music for Every Mood.” Now, Grammy-winning artist Keith Urban is just a run-of-the-mill dude in the latest spot in the effort, featuring his new single “We Were.”

The spot opens on Urban's more familiar, famous self, and we see him lighting up the stage for a screaming audience. It then cuts to scenes of "Keith Suburban," and we get a peek at the more "human” side of the country star. He trims his hedges, sweeps up a single leaf from the surface of his pool and waits patiently in front of the microwave while he re-heats his cold burrito. The barista at the local coffee shop even mistakes him for “Kate” when she calls out his latte order.

All throughout, he’s listening to Spotify (his playlist features tunes from H.E.R. and The Flying Burrito Brothers).

The spot, created in-house at Spotify, follows Urban’s previous Spotify collaboration from last year, when he was the inaugural artist on Spotify’s relaunched “Hot Country” playlist. The Perlorian Brothers directed via MJZ.
