Yasiin Bey, also known as Mos Def, teams up with human rights organization Reprieve, and director Asif Kapadia to demonstrate just what is happening in Guantanamo Bay as the Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan, begins. The force-feeding process was outlined in a leaked military document as "standard operating procedure," as over a 100 people in Guantanamo Bay continue a hunger strike.

Lawyers representing the prisoners have asked courts to step in, saying that force-feeding is a form of torture (as is evident from this disturbing video) and also stops the prisoners from observing Ramadan. However, the Justice Department maintains that this is a "humane" way to stop them from starving to death.  This is Bey's way of showing that that is simply not the case.

The film directs viewers to the Reprieve site, and the hashtag #standfast, where users can petition for detainees.
