Those of you who got your panties in a bunch over the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer may get your panties in an even bigger bunch after watching the new game trailer for "Star Wars: Battlefront," EA and Dice's videogame reboot that comes out in November, more than a month before the new feature film hits screens at Christmas.
The trailer itself looks like the stuff of cut scenes, but it shows actual game engine footage that puts players in the middle of key battles from the original film series, in locales like Endor, Hoth and Tattoine, from the POV of various Star Wars characters, including Boba Fett and even Darth Vader himself and steering the famous battleships of the films, including X-wing and Tie Fighters and the Millenium Falcon.
The Verge's Bryan Bishop describes the game, at least its combinations of visuals and sound design, as "the closest we've ever gotten to playing a Star Wars movie."
