Sin City Gets Serious in Powerful Tribute From the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority
Native Las Vegan Andre Agassi Voices Campaign From Longtime Agency R&R Partners
Editor's Pick
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is typically inclined to producing funny ads that hint at Sin City's naughty side (like last month's "Dream Vacation"). But its ad agency R&R Partners got serious following the horrific events at the Mandalay Bay on Sunday.
Voiced by tennis pro and Las Vegas native Andre Agassi, a new film from the agency takes a simple approach; it zooms in from afar on the lit-up Vegas strip as Agassi describes what makes "Vegas Strong"--(a slogan that is now also on display on the strip's digital marquees.)
"Strength is valet parkers who become medics, mothers who become emergency responders, sisters who shield brothers who love them with a love that has no bounds," Agassi states. He continues to pay tribute to first responders, medics and surgeons, police and local businesses who helped out during the events of Sunday night. The film ends with the #VegasStrong message, and a detectable tremor in Agassi's voice making it particularly affecting.
