States United to Prevent Gun Violence continues to highlight the devastation wreaked by guns in America with an outdoor and social media campaign that gives a symbolic "Ghost vote" to a person who has died due to gun violence.

The aim of the new campaign is to put what it calls "common-sense gun laws" at the top of the agenda leading up to the elections. Yesterday, March 15, ahead of the third Super Tuesday of the 2016 Campaign, body outlines appeared overnight in Washington D.C. on sidewalks near the NRA. The movement also includes a website, GhostVote.com, where supporters are encouraged to declare that they are "Ghost Voters" in honor of those affected by gun violence. People will be able to update their social media profile pictures with a specially designed image highlighting someone who has died because of a gun, and can contact local legislators in the name of that person.

States United to Prevent Gun Violence teamed up with The Newtown Action Alliance, the grassroots organization formed after the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, for the campaign. Previous stunts by the organization and agency Grey New York include setting up a fake gun store in Manhattan and encouraging Americans to disinvest in retirement portfolios that include gun companies.
