After "Mob the Rainbow," "Create the Rainbow" and more, Skittles now takes the rainbow theme into the world of documentaries with BBDO Toronto's "Struck by a Rainbow."
Directed by Hungry Man's Conor Byrne, the film -- and its trailer -- are briliantly acted, posing as the kind of serious documentary that would win a prize at Sundance or Cannes. The whole story focuses on the hardships of a man who has experienced an unusual physical transformation (which, contrary to what many might think, wasn't the result of an encounter with this guy).
Interviews with his long suffering wife, mother and an elderly gent who saw it happen dramatize the emotional intensity of the man's condition. But, it turns out, his affliction is the fact that his face is made of Skittles, so it's hard to watch with a straight face.
