Cars Dressed Up as Sports Arenas in the City's Campaign Promoting an International Competition for College Athletes

Subway riders on Taipei's green line have had fun lately posing in cars outfitted to look like sports arenas. Patterns that mimic the lanes of a swimming pool, the starting blocks of a track race, a basketball court, a soccer field and other venues have replaced the typical boring linoleum.
The cool flooring is a promotion for the 2017 Summer Universiade, a tournament for college athletes, which comes to Taiwan in August. The subway straps also have tags that display rules, interesting facts, and funny anecdotes about sports, according to a release from the Department of Information and Tourism of the Taipei City Government. The International University Sport Federation hosts the games every other year.
This selfie-worthy campaign makes us wonder if subway floors have untapped potential as ad space. Who could forget the gross-out (but transfixing) spot from back in 2014, when a Bissell exec demonstrated a vacuum's cleaning power by scrubbing a patch of tile in the Toronto subway, dumping pasta on it and eating it?
