To celebrate its current exhibit of photographer Eadweard Muybridge, the Tate Britain commissioned developers Theo Watson and Emily Gobeille and Nexus Productions to create the Muybridgizer. Available for free on iTunes, the iPhone/iTouch app allows users to take multiple stills, manipulate them frame by frame and then animate them a la Muybridge.
Muybridgizers can then share their work via email or on Flickr, or they can upload their sequences to the Muybridgizer microsite. As part of the exhibit, which runs until January 16, 2011, Watson, Gobeille and Nexus also created new animations from Muybridge's original zoopraxiscope discs, which will be projected during the show.
