We're all used to the idea of trending topics for Twitter, but what if the same idea could be replicated in the real world? For TEDx Sydney, Clemenger BBDO Sydney tried to do just that by creating 'Mimeisthai': a system of measuring and visualizing the chatter of 900 delegates in the theater. An array of mikes captured the talk, then used technology to translate data into text. As Mimeisthai's algorithm isolated and analyzed the conversations, key phrases then appeared as graphic art on the main screen, visualizing the spread of ideas across the room, and dramatizing the conference's theme: Real. Live. Now.
