It looks like the holidays are in full swing, at least in the U.K., whose retailers have already debuted major Christmas spots, like Marks & Spencer's fantasy spectacle
via RKCR/Y&R and John Lewis' whimsical animated tale
of a Bear and a Hare, via adam&eveDDB. Wieden + Kennedy, London and Tesco add to the festive mix with the much more laid back, lo-fi tale of holidays through the years. The ad focuses on a single family and its Xmas celebrations over the years, through the lens of the photographic device of the moment. Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" heightens the sentiment of the happy times. The ad, directed by Jon Crowley of Tomboy Films, marks a new, feel-good turn for the retailer, which until now has typically promoted "price" over "emotion" in its holiday ads.
