Text like the Queen

Editor's Pick

In celebration of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, Android app Swiftkey has come up with its own take on jubilee merchandise; a mobile app that lets you text like the queen. To mark the Queen's 60-year reign, the company released a new language module for the app which converts your texts into 'Queen's English' by suggesting words that the British monarch would be statistically most likely to use.

To create the module, Swiftkey used technology that processed the transcripts of Queen Elizabeth speeches since her coronation in 1952. It revealed several trends, including the Queen's avoidance of colloquial contractions such as 'it's' in favor of the more formal 'it is', and her tendency to maintain a positive tone in communications, using words such as "confident", "delighted" and "pleased". Were fairly sure that LOL, LMAO and smiley faces do not figure.
