Luis 'Biter' Suarez Takes On the Haters in Punchy Adidas Spot
Real Madrid's Bale, Rodriguez and Benzema Join Player in Facing Down Trolls
Editor's Pick
He made headlines during the 2014 FIFA World Cup for biting another player, but controversial soccer star Luis Suarez shows he isn't afraid to take on the "haters" in this punchy spot for Adidas Football (and the brand isn't afraid to feature him).
Created by Iris, the film also features Real Madrid players Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema, alongside blink-and-you'll-miss-it snapshots of voodoo dolls, magazine covers, heart-shaped swimming pools and more. It's all set to a brash soundtrack -- "Battle Royale (Haters -Instrumental VIP") by Apashe. The message -- a very current one -- is that trolls are going to hate top players for lots of reasons including their talent, their celebrity, their girlfriends. But, well, bring it on. Oh, and they're going to hate their Adidas boots as well, because they want them.
The spot, running online and on social channels globally, promotes the brand's Adizero F50, Predator, Nitrocharge and 11Pro boots, which will be worn by all the players featured, including Suarez, who plays for Barcelona. The spot was directed by Ernest Desumbila out of Frenzy Paris.
