After teasing us with a trio of cryptic films last week, Chanel No. 5 has finally unveiled its spot starring Brad Pitt. Although before you sigh in relief: it's just as mystifying as the teasers.

In a black and white 30-second film, the actor appears to be pontificating on the inevitability of life, about the steady march of history, the world turning (and human beings turning with it) and the futility of making plans. But, wherever Mr. Pitt goes, there's his luck, his fortune. His Angelina Jolie? Just kidding. Although, as some people have already pointed out, this could be an ad for anything, including St. John's First Aid.

Pitt reportedly signed a $7m deal to be the new face of Chanel No 5 back in May, the first male celebrity to promote the fragrance brand in its history.
