At 5 p.m. today, Jay-Z will be making his big relaunch announcement about Tidal, the hi-fi music streaming service he recently acquired with the purchase of Norwegian company Aspiro for reportedly $56 milliion. Ahead of the event, he's released this slighty ominous teaser featuring an army of music industry megastars to rival Live Aid. Celebrities including Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna, Daft Punk, Kanye West, Nicky Minaj and Chris Martin make their way into a meeting room, where they're joined by others including Usher and Alicia Keys over teleconference. Sitting together, everyone looks a tad bit tense as a heartbeat like drumbeat pounds on.

The film comes on the heels of a social effort for which Jay-Z enlisted the stars in the film to change their social media profile pics blue with the hashtag #TIDALforALL.

Tidal reportedly poses big competition for other streaming services such as Spotify and Beats, with first streaming rights deals of new albums from major artists, presumably those featured in this ad.

Check out Tidal's livestream this afternoon at 5 p.m. for more details about the relaunched service.

Update: During yesterday's event in New York City, the stars in the film had gathered on stage to announce that Tidal would be an "artist-owned global music entertainment platform," according to Alicia Keys, who addressed the crowd. "Our goal is simple: we want to create a better service and a better experience for both fans and artists. Our mission goes beyond commerce, it goes beyond technology. Our intent is to preserve music's importance in our lives." A Tidal exec also announced the service would be partnering with Sprint. Read more about it on
