See NYC Before and After a Deadly Virus Strikes in Trailer for 'The Division'
Film Illustrates Effects of a Deadly Virus on Everyday Life

Ubisoft is heavily promoting its new game "Tom Clancy's The Division," released on Tuesday (March 8), in which players have to fight against a lethal virus, the fictional Variola Chimerapandemic that is threatening to end the world.
Efforts have included a pre-launch interactive game, in which the player is "patient zero," and now this trailer, which illustrates forcefully the contrast between life before and after the virus in New York City. The film, by BETC, shows familiar scenes such as Manhattan streets and the Brooklyn Bridge suddenly transformed in dark and lawless places, as the narrator explains how the normal order of society has been overturned. Banknotes are now a mechanism for spreading disease, the police are nowhere to be seen and playgrounds are now shooting grounds. The film ends by showing four ordinary people becoming the agents of the division as they step up to restore order.
