A Manic Triangle Soloist Takes Center Stage in Geico's Latest Funny Spot
Wannabe Rockstar Is the Latest Hero of 'It's Not Surprising' Campaign
Editor's Pick
Geico's latest ad in the "Its Not Surprising"-themed campaign features a triangle soloist in an classical orchestra who clearly wants to be in a different kind of concert.
The surprising part? When it comes to the part for his genteel tap of the triangle, he slides across the stage on his knees as if performing a guitar solo in a rock concert, screaming and manically dinging. Like all the best Geico ads, it's a simple idea, but will make you laugh.
The TV ad aired during the Emmys and there's an online version that ends with a call to action from the player for subscribers to Geico's YouTube channel. It was created by longstanding agency The Martin Agency (according to whom, the soloist ripped his pants several times during production trying to perfect his slide across the stage). Steve Miller at Radical Media was the director.
