Jonathan Glazer Turns Wildlife Director With This Peaceful Canon Spot
Second Film in 'Come and See' Series Features a Herd of Urban Deer
Editor's Pick
Canon Europe continues its "Come and See" campaign, all filmed using its own products, with a second spot by director Jonathan Glazer -- and this one captures a different kind of wildlife.
In contrast to the noisy and colorful Gladiator Football, "Urban Deer" is all about simple, beautiful footage as we follow a herd of deer who roam through the suburban streets near England's Epping Forest at night. There's no music, just the sounds of the deer's pattering hooves and the faint strains of people watching TV in nearby houses. The film, by JWT London, was shot over the course of several days, using the Canon EOS C500 and EOS C300. Magically, the deer are joined by a fox and a cat at one moment; we think Glazer might have a talent for this stuff. What's more, it could bring a few moments of serenity to ad breaks during the frenetic holiday season.
