L'Oreal's latest product release isn't just a cool-looking nail accessory--it might actually help save your life. At CES this week, the beauty company, in partnership with design firm Fuseproject, debuted UV Sense, a tiny wearable that measures UV exposure--without the need for a battery.
The 9mm-wide circular button is 9 mm lhouses a UV-activated sensor and can store three months data. It uses NFC tech to connect to your iOS or Android device so you can keep track of your exposure over the long-term.
The product, created for L'Oreal's La Roche-Posay brand, is an evolution of the brand's My UV Patch introduced two years ago. UV Sense will hit the U.S market in limited release at an undisclosed price for the 2018 summer season, followed by a global launch next year.
