Virtual Reality Hits Higher Learning for the University of Sydney
360-Degree Experience Gives a Closer Peek Into Campus Offerings

Thanks to virtual reality, parents, and prospective university students, can breathe a lot easier when it comes to their college visit travel budget. Working with Australian agency The Monkeys, the University of Sydney has created this 360-degree virtual tour of its campus, allowing potential students -- even those from miles away -- to dig easily into what the college has to offer, from its Fisher Library to its colorful Graffiti Hall, as well as nearby sights like Bondi Beach and Sydney Harbor.
The film launched as part of the university's new website. It makes good sense for a campus in which 20 percent of students come from overseas.
"Choosing a university is a huge decision that will shape the rest of your life," said The Monkeys Creative Director Paul Bruce in a statement. "We wanted the experience to give users time to consider the social and cultural factors, as well as deliver factual information, in a more engaging way."
