When winter arrives in the Norwegian town of Longyearbyen, Norway, one of the northernmost inhabitable places on the earth, its residents will not see sunlight for four straight months. So Phillips decided to bring brightness to their lives with this new campaign for its Wake-Up Light, out of Tribal DDB Amsterdam.

Residents of the town have each been given a Wake-Up Light, and their experiences will be documented by filmmaker Doug Pray, for a documentary and online films that track whether the Philips light helps enrich the lives of Longyearbyen dwellers.

Viewers can follow the experiment starting today through December on the campaign website, which will feature photographs, feedback from the residents and videos of their experiences and light therapy expert/scientist Dan Adam, as well as details of the Philips Wake-Up Light. The effort can also be followed on the Philips Wakeup Facebook page.
