Jac Holzman, founder of Elektra Records, is behind a new iPad app that celebrates the music of The Doors (the New York Times reports today). Released by Warner Music this week, the $4.99 app features include interactive insider stories about the band from David Fricke of Rolling Stone , as well as a audio, video and little-seen memorabilia of the cult rockers. There's also a graphic novel, a Doors map of L.A. and contributions and video from Patti Smith, Hunter S Thompson and others. A "music room" feature lets you flip through the classic Doors LPs, hear song samples, or scan and match full tracks from your own library, and contains lyrics to all Doors songs, while an in-app link connects you to social media to share features.
