In a delightful promo by the BBC for this year's Wimbledon tennis coverage, a tennis ball goes on a havoc-wreaking, joyous journey around the U.K before arriving at the All England Club.

It starts, appropriately enough, in a strawberry patch where it knocks on a sprinkler, before bouncing into an ice-cream van, decapitating a statue, causing mayhem with white line painting, and crushing sandcastles, via a quick reminder of other BBC shows like "Doctor Who" and "EastEnders" (presumably for those who don't relish two weeks of tennis on TV). It ends up on court at Wimbledon, as Andy Murray gears up for a shot.

The film is by Y&R London and was directed by Ben & Joe Dempsey at Knucklehead.

"We wanted to create a trail for the BBC that is modern, dynamic and grabs attention for the biggest British sporting event this summer. Irreverent and full of character, our maverick tennis ball turns the nation onto Wimbledon from a very different perspective," said Jon Burley, chief creative officer at Y&R London in a statement.
