A Man Searches for the 'Woman of His Life' in This Heart-Tugging Directory Ad

Bacon's Martin Werner Directs Understated Tearjerker

Norwegian directory service Operator 1881 tugs at the hearstrings in a new spot directed by the omnipresent Martin Werner at Bacon.

It's a simple story of a man searching for someone via directory enquiries -- but, as you might expect from Werner, it's beautifully delivered with pathos and understated heartfeltness. The man is searching for a woman; he knows her name and describes her as "the woman of my life" but it's clear they fell out with each other some time ago when he was "young and stupid."

We see his journey across fjords and countryside to meet this person, and you might be expecting a reunion with an ex-lover, but the spot ends with a twist that may have you sniffing.

The ad, by Try/Apt, ends with the message that Operator 1881 is connecting Norwegians every day.
