A dramatic, Hollywood-style spy chase takes an amusing, everyday turn in a new campaign for train information app Trainline, the first work for the brand by BBH London.
It begins with a female spy chasing a man through a large train station, following instructions from a central control room to "Stay on him." Just as the tension rachets up, and she loses him in a crowd, she's approached by a cheery commuter with a mobile phone who tells her. "Platform 3, pet. That's if he's off to Didcot Parkway," as the screen highlights the app's live train travel information. As the spy races off after her target, we end with the tagline, "Wonderfully predictable."
The spot is directed with a stylish touch by Pedro Martin-Calero via Blink, with film shot in Kiev Central Station. It's running on TV and in cinemas across the U.K. during screenings of Hollywood film "The Commuter."
Hamish Pinnell, BBH Creative Director, says in a statement: " Am I going to make it? What platform? Where's my ticket?" Everyone has had one of these thoughts when running late to catch a train. To encapsulate that feeling, BBH staged the most intense, dramatic train-related scene possible--a classic spy chase. But, the tension is no match for the Trainline app, which swiftly and predictably disposes of the drama and provides a one stop shop for travel information."
