A man is rescued from a lonely Christmas by a muscly fairy godmother type character in a quirky holiday film by London agency Wonderhood Studios.

The spot, aimed at highlighting loneliness at this time of year, reminds viewers that "not everyone has someone," by way of a tale about a man who pretends in the dry cleaners that he's having a huge party. You can tell from the look on his face that this is likely to be a huge lie, but when an unusual looking stranger appears and offers to help he's powerless to refuse. They set up his whole house with lights and decorations, but when the door closes the man is alone again -- until his new friend reappears to save the day. The film, directed by Theo James Krekis of Knucklehead, ends with a message that Wonderhood is supporting the Samaritans this Christmas.

“We are both very lucky to be able to travel home and spend time with our families for Christmas, but not everyone is that fortunate," said Sofie Saietz and Simone Weilborg, the creatives behind the spot, in a statement. "We hope our film can shine a light on the issue and encourage others to check in on those around them – loneliness isn’t always easy to spot from a distance.”

“Our intention was to make a bittersweet film that would help raise awareness around the amazing work Samaritans do, but to also make our audience aware that Christmas can be an especially lonely time for some people," added Krekis. "It’s so easy to take our friends and family for granted, so this Christmas, take a moment, and do what you can for those in need.
