Stunt Promoting RC F Model Took Place in Australia
Jul 23, 2015
In a stunt to promote its RC F model, Lexus has designed a car that displays its driver's heartbeat rate by showing its rhythm in "biometric" paint on the outside.
The project, which was conceived by M&C Saatchi Australia, connected three professional drivers to a Lexus RC F via a heartbeat monitor feeding data to an Arduino control board in the rear of the car. They then raced, at night, around a Japanese motorsport-inspired circuit with a difficult hairpin bend. As their hearts beat faster, the electro-luminscent paint lit up in a pulsating rhythm.
The brand started teasing the car this week and just unveiled it in full today in this film.
