Xfinity partnered with "The Fate of the Furious," (the latest installment of "The Fast and the Furious," made by sister company Universal Pictures) to film a stunt in which two unsuspecting customers are inserted into a scene from the movie.
The customers are led into what seems like a cool drive-in theater, where they get a preview of the film while sitting in cars featured within the movie. But all of a sudden, the cars start moving, crash through walls and they're in the middle of all the explosive stunts and high-speed chases within an especially gripping scen of the film, featuring Dominic (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez).
Directed by Jeff Tremaine ("Jackass" and "Bad Grandpa"), the stunt was conceived in collaboration with creative agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners to promote Xfinity's new Gigabit Internet service. We're told the entire experience was shot live in one take, and that the crew rehearsed for days to ensure the two fans really had no idea what was coming.
