Terence Neale Joins Park Pictures, Biscuit Adds Errol Morris
Park Pictures has signed South African director Terence Neale for U.S. and U.K. commercial representation. Neale's recent directorial work includes the Adidas spots "Your Future is Not Mine" and "Original is Never Finished," out of Johannes Leonardo's global campaign for Adidas Originals. The spot recently won the Cannes Lions' Grand Prix in Entertainment for Music. He has also helmed ads for Coca-Cola, and music videos including Skrillex's "Ragga Bomb," which has taken in over 100 million views online. He was previously signed to RSA.
Biscuit Filmworks has signed documentary and commercial filmmaker Errol Morris to its commercial roster in both the U.S. and U.K. Morris has directed over 1,000 commercials throughout his career, including campaigns for Apple, American Express, Nike, IBM, Target, General Motors, Miller High Life and Cisco. His "Photo Booth" spot for PBS earned a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Commercial. Morris' latest documentary film "The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman's Portrait Photography" is in theaters, and he is currently working on "Wormwood," a documentary miniseries for Netflix starring Peter Sarsgaard.
Sanctuary Content has added Elle Ginter to its roster of directors. Ginter was recently selected as one of 13 directors worldwide for the DGA and AICP's Commercial Directors Diversity Showcase. Her first project with Sanctuary was a Father's Day spot for Buffalo Wild Wings out of TBWA/Chiat/Day/LA, in which a young girl bonds with her father while watching sports.
Spears & Arrows, the three-year-old production company led by Founder/Executive Producer Jason Wolk, has added commercial director Phil Brown for exclusive U.S. representation. Brown, who was most recently represented in the U.S. by production company Humble, Los Angeles, has worked on ads for Volkswagen Ford, Kia, Samsung, Coors, Ikea, Wind, Bell, Verizon, Budweiser, Blue Cross Blue Shield and GE. Recent projects include a spot for Canada's Pan Am Games, Ontario's Metrolinx train service and Germany's Commerzbank.
Aero Film alumni Sara Eolin and filmmakers Klaus Obermeyer and Ken Arlidge have launched production company Rocket Film in New York and Los Angeles. Joining Managing Director Eolin, Obermeyer and Arlidge are two more Aero vets, Executive Producer Cory Noonan and Marla Whittaker, an executive producer and head of production. Directors on its roster include Alex Grossman, Dara Bratt, Sam O'Hare, David Rogers and Trevor McMahan.
Gifted Youth, the Los Angeles-based commercial division of Funny Or Die, has added director/writer/actor Zoe Lister-Jones to its roster. While Lister-Jones is best-known for her starring role in the CBS comedy "Life in Pieces," she also co-wrote and produced the features "Breaking Upwards" (IFC Films), "Lola Versus" (Fox Searchlight), and "Consumed" with her husband Daryl Wein, who also directed. Her feature directorial debut came with her latest project, "Band Aid" (IFC Films), which she also wrote and starred in alongside Adam Pally and Fred Armisen.
Colorist Lez Rudge has joined forces with production and postproduction executives Marcelo Gandola, Axel Ericson and Ed Rilli to launch Twelve, a post boutique for the advertising, film and television industry. The company has already completed campaigns for Jagermeister, Comcast, Maybelline, Tequila Avion, and the NY Rangers. Gandola was most recently chief operations officer at Harbor Picture Company. Rudge was formerly a colorist and partner at Nice Shoes, working with clients such as Revlon, Avon, Canon, GE and Dewar's. Rilli was previously head of production at Nice Shoes for 17 years, while Ericson is also the founder of Digital Arts, a production, finishing and audio facility that serves as a strategic partner to Twelve and its clients.
London-based director Mitch Stratten has joined Moxie Pictures for commercial representation in the U.S. and U.K. Originally from South Africa, he made a name for himself with his "Time Sculpture" film for Toshiba, which broke the Guinness World Record for most moving image cameras used in a single shot.
Deluxe's Method Studios has promoted producer Cara Lehr to lead its Commercial Finishing business in Los Angeles as executive producer, reporting to Ed Ulbrich, president and general manager of Deluxe VFX. Lehr will work closely with Stephanie Gilgar, senior executive producer, and Ananda Reavis, head of production, commercial finishing, who reports to Lehr. She has been a commercial producer for 13 years, 10 of them with Method Studios, working with brands including Apple, Microsoft, Nike, ESPN, Lexus and Taco Bell. Prior to Method she worked with studios Asylum, Digital Domain, Psyop, and Brickyard.
Editorial company Exile has added Max Koepke as an editor for its New York operation. He joins a team of 14 editors including partners Kirk Baxter, Matt Murphy, and Eric Zumbrunnen. Koepke got his start at Modernista as the in-house editor on Hummer and Cadillac, then moved to Lost Planet cutting spots for brands including including Nike, Google Chrome, Jack Daniels and Gatorade.
We Fly Coach has added Allison Cantor as executive producer in its West Coast office. Cantor, who was previously managing director of sister company Animated Storyboards, will lead global marketing and sales for the production company and its expanding its directorial roster.
