Gannon and Dierauer Launch Music Content Shop, Reel FX Enters Virtual Reality

Music industry producers Peter Gannon and Jessica Dierauer have joined forces to launch Able Baker, a music content company based in New York City. Able Baker, whose name is taken from the first two letters of the original phonetic alphabet, will offer music strategy and consultation, original composition, music supervision and licensing, as well as content production across TV, film, digital and non-traditional disciplines for the ad and entertainment industries. Gannon and Dierauer, who have worked with agencies including Wieden & Kennedy, Ogilvy & Mather and The Martin Agency, will be executive producers. Able Baker will also partner with audio post production company Heard City.
Independent animation studio Reel FX has opened a virtual reality division, based in Dallas. The division will primarily focus on client work for studios and agencies as well as content needs for Reel FX's upcoming feature films such as "The Book of Life" which opens later this month. The move to establish Reel FX VR follows the company's involvement in VR projects in early 2014 for clients such as Chuck E. Cheese and Legendary Pictures' "Pacific Rim," which debuted at 2014 ComicCon. Reel FX VR will be overseen by founder and executive creative director Dale Carman, general manager Keith McCabe and executive producer Gary Banks. Artists from Reel FX's feature and commercial crews will lead the creative teams.
Wondros has signed film director Luke Greenfield to its roster for his first commercial representation. Greenfield has directed features including this year's "Let's Be Cops," as well as "The Girl Next Door," starring Olivia Wilde, which he co-wrote. Other work includes TV pilot "Aliens in America," and he is currently working on a feature with 20th Century Fox.
London production company Strange Beast has appointed Adam Parry as its first creative director. Parry, who is also known as "Picadilly Curtains," has directed several projects through Strange Beast, including "Premium Remastered" featuring Justin Timberlake.
The Sweet Shop has signed director Iain Mackenzie to its roster. Mackenzie has helmed spots for brands including Lexus, Mercedes, Sears, Campbell's, Visa, Dow, Qantas, Chrysler and Citigroup. Previously signed to Paydirt Pictures, he has won awards at the Cannes Lions festival, Adfest, the London International Advertising Awards, and more.
Corina Dennison, the former executive producer at Whitehouse Post, has moved to creative editorial and post studio NO6 NY, also as executive producer. Dennison began her post career as an assistant editor for editorial shops Shoot First and Lost Planet. In 1999 she moved over to production at Rock Paper Scissors LA, then held the position of executive producer at the Whitehouse NYC until 2012. Separately, NO6, which comprises Peepshow Post Productions in London and NO6 Offices in NY and LA, has named Deborah Sullivan as managing director. Sullivan spent the last year integrating Peepshow NY and NO6 NY after serving as executive producer with Peepshow for three years. She has also worked at DDB, FCB and Publicis/Hal Riney, and was a founding partner of Berlin, Cameron and Partners, transitioning to post production when she joined Peepshow after a three-year stint as executive producer at Radical Media.
Tool has signed interactive director Gmunk (Bradley G. Munkowitz) to its roster. His portfolio spans feature films, experimental installations, music videos, graphic design, and title sequences. He began his career at the web design firm Vir2l Studios Europe but became known for the immersive experiences he built for his personal website Gmunk.com. His work includes the holographic sequences for director Joseph Kosinski's "Tron: Legacy." Most recently, he served as design director at San Francisco-based robotics studio Bot & Dolly.
Believe Media has signed German director Alex Feil to its commercial roster. His work includes commercials and documentaries throughout Germany and he is known for his campaigns for automakers including Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar. In addition to his directorial work, he is also a member of the Art Directors Club, where he serves as a juror for international advertising festivals.
Amsterdam-based production company Minivegas has signed seven new filmmakers to its roster. They are Brennan Stasiewicz (U.S.), Claas Ortmann (Germany), Damien Ferrié (France), Jean-Paul Frenay (Belgium), Los Pérez (Spain), Rob Chiu (U.K.) and Will Innes Smith (U.K., pictured). They join Minivegas directors Maarten Boon and Andrew Watson to complete the roster.
