Oblivion director Kosinski joins Reset, Backyard signs Kohs and more
Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski has joined Reset for worldwide representation in advertising. He joins long time colleagues Dave Morrison and David Fincher, from their previous company, Anonymous Content. Kosinski has previously directed commercials for the likes of Chevolet, BMW, Halo and Gears of War. His debut feature film Tron: Legacy, grossed over $400 million and was nominated for several awards including an Academy Award and a Grammy. Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise, has grossed over $250 million since its release in April.
Backyard has added filmmaker Greg Kohs to its roster for U.S. commercial representation. Kohs, who was previously represented for spots by @radical.media, has previously shot commercials and web films for the likes of Google, Apple, MasterCard, Tostitos, Titleist, EA Sports and more. Prior to that he made NFL Films, ten of which won Emmy Awards, and has also directed documentaries.
@radical.media has signed stop-motion animation collective Stoopid Buddy Stoodios to its roster for commercial representation. Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is comprised of four partners, Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, John Harvatine IV, and Eric Towner. They have created and directed virals such as Adult Swim's series Robot Chicken, College Humor's and Dinosaur Office.
Albert Kodagolian has joined production company Interrogate for US representation. The commercial director and cinematographer joins Interrogate after completing principal photography on his first feature film, Somewhere Beautiful. Kodagolian has directed spots for brands such as Budweiser, Sony Bravia, Nissan, MasterCard, Levi's, Bacardi and Kia. He began at RSA Films and eventually moving to Park Pictures before opening up his own shop Bueno Films. His awards include D&ADs, Clios, Kinsale, Addy, Kodak/BAFTA, AICP and ATP 50 showcases.
Three creative and production executives from Superfad NY have re-assembled as Scout, a new divison of Gravity. The newly launched Scout is led by creative directors Chace Hartman and Brian Drucker, along with head of production Whitney Green. Hartman has worked with numerous design companies on both the East and West Coasts, including Digital Kitchen, Brand New School, Buck, Hush and Superfad. Drucker has served as in-house creative director with many production companies based in New York, both designing and technical directing commercials.As wel as Superfad, he has also worked at Trollback, Loyal Kaspar, Brand New School, Psyop, Mass Market, The Ebeling Group, Curious Pictures and Freestyle Collective. Green has worked as part of the production teams at Charlex, Headlight, Trollback + Company, and Superfad.
> Rattling Stick has added director Dave Edwards to its roster. Edwards joins from Rogue where he worked on a variety of brands including Budweiser, NSPCC, Sky, MTV & Ford. His commercial "Mad Dogs" for Sky won a Gold Promax Award at the European Awards in Barcelona.
Motion design and production studio Royale has added executive producer Chris Volckmann (left) head of digital production Beck Henderer-Pena (right) and senior art director Loren Judah (center) to its team. The three, formerly of Superfad, will head Royale's new Seattle, Washington location, and work closely with the Los Angeles office.
Untitled Films has added director Drew Lightfoot to its roster for Canadian representation. Lightfoot, who is represented by Passion Pictures in New York, and London has helmed spots for brands such as VW, Sony Playstation, Orange, Bud Light and more. He has been awarded at the Bessies, BDAs, LIAAs, and in 2008, received two D&AD pencils for his work on Big Yellow Tide and Sony Bravia's Playdoh Bunnies.
Montreal-based Rodeo FX has hired Audrey Boivin as producer for the company's advertising department. Boivin has 10 years of experience in production for clients such as Adidas, MGM Grand, Tourisme Montreal and Hydro-Quebec. She has also participated in the production of several long feature films, including Cafe de Flore, Immortals and C.R.A.Z.Y.
Sibling Rivalry has signed with Maven Label for exclusive East Coast representation. Maven Label was established in 2010 by Kamila Prokop and Pamala Buzick, while Kate Aspell joined Maven Label in 2011. Sibling Rivalry will join Maven's current roster of: Bandito Brothers, Breed, Final Cut, Hello, Paranoid and Squeak E Clean.
Production Company atSwim has added new director Noah Paul for commercial representation. Paul has worked at film title company yU+Co and as Design and Film Director for Bullett, a New York-based culture, fashion, music and art media resource. His first work is nine spot campaign with Kaiser Permanente with agency Campbell Ewald.
