Saville has added British-born feature film director Simon West
to its commercial directorial roster. West, known for films
including action-thrillers Con Air and Lara Croft:
Tomb Raider, The General's Daughter, and When a
Stranger Calls., began his career as a film editor at the BBC
in London. His commercial work includes Pepsi's 'Bottle' SuperBowl spot as well
as work for Little Caesar's which won a Clio Award and Golden Lion
Award. West has just wrapped Stolen, an action thriller starring
Nicholas Cage and is in post-production on Expendables 2.
He recently shot Orange UK's cinema advertising by Fallon,
featuring members of the Expendables team including Sylvester
Stallone and Jason Statham.
SapientNitro has apointed Alan Schulman as regional chief creative officer (CCO) for New York, reporting to Gaston Legorburu, worldwide chief creative officer. Schulman was previously founder and creative head of his own digital innovations company. Earlier in his career he served as creative director at McCann-Erickson NY, working with clients such as Coca-Cola and Sony, before co-founding Brand New World, a creative shop that specialized in emerging platforms, in 2004. He also served executive creative director in charge of digital programs at imc2 before founding his own company. He has worked on integrated campaigns as myM&M's 'Faces' for Mars/Wrigley, Diet Coke's 'Wear Red for Heart Truth' and Splenda Journeys' branded content series for Johnson & Johnson.
T3 has named Joe Volpicelli senior vice president and executive creative director of its New York office. Volpicelli joins T3 from BBDO New York, where he spent the past 13 years, as vice president creative director, overseeing work on Lowe's and Arby's. His client experience also includes Bank of America, NYSE, Starburst, Snickers, Pizza Hut and the U.S. Navy. Prior to BBDO, Volpicelli held creative positions at Grey and Y&R, both in New York. He has won industry awards including Andy, Addy, Clio, Effie, London International and NY Festivals. Volpicelli will report to T3 chief creative pfficer, Jay Suhr, who manages the agency's overall creative department from Austin, Texas.
