Rolling Stone vs. Us Weekly: The Sing-Along
Eh. It's Better Than a Circulation Contest
They cover musicians for a living -- but can they sing? Rolling Stone and Us Weekly staff members are going head-to-head in a karaoke competition to promote TLC's new reality show, "The Singing Office." If you haven't heard of this one, it's the show where former N'Syncer Joey Fatone and Mel B of Spice Girls fame ambush everyday folks at the workplace to find the best amateur singers and dancers (hey, at least it keeps them working).
The competition, part of a larger campaign for the show by media agency PHD, pits Rolling Stone associate publisher Ed Hecht and his staff against Scott Willett, associate publisher of Us Weekly, and his. Their songs: "La Bamba" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Check out Us Weekly's website for videos of the showdown.
