Anheuser-Busch InBev’s first-ever corporate spot examined how beer could help bring the country back together after a year of pandemic fear and separation. Showing moments from a rained out wedding, a colleague getting laid off and a flight that just keeps getting delayed, Anheuser-Busch suggests beer can be more than a beverage. “When you say let’s grab a beer, it’s never just about the beer,” the narrator says. “It’s how you say, ‘I’m glad we’re stuck together.’”
This was Anheuser-Busch’s first corporate Super Bowl ad, and one of five spots the company aired in 2021. It also aired two spots each for Bud Light and Michelob Ultra. AB InBev decided to run this corporate spot instead of a commercial for its Budweiser brand, making it the first time the label skipped the Big Game in more than three decades.
