Idris Elba stars in Booking.com’s Super Bowl campaign, which kicked off two with teasers released weeks ahead of the game.
In the teasers, Elba has Zoom meetings with Isaiah Mustafa, of Old Spice commercial fame, and Jonathan Goldsmith, Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Man in the World, to seek their expert guidance regarding his Big Game ad debut.
In the actual ad, which ran in the fourth quarter, Elba says that Booking.com has “never been accused of being flash, sexy or lit,” and makes fun of the matter-of-fact brand name. “We’d rather just be honest and helpful and extraordinarily good at this thing we named our company after,” he says.
Booking.com worked with agency Horses & Mules for the teasers and 30-second spot. Director Tim Godsall helmed all three.
