In “Don’t Miss Out,” FTX’s Super Bowl commercial debut, comedian Larry David plays an apparently time-traveling naysayer who has doubted various innovations across history, including the wheel, the fork and the lightbulb.
Near the end of the ad, a man explains to him that FTX is “a safe and easy way to get into crypto.” David, of course, is skeptical. “Eh, I don’t think so,” he says. “And I’m never wrong about this stuff. Never!”
The words “Don’t be like Larry” appear on screen at the close of the spot.
The presence of FTX and other crypto exchanges in the Super Bowl had industry observers dubbing Super Bowl LVI the “Crypto Bowl.” Jeff Schaffer directed “Don’t Miss Out” for Dentsu Mcgarrybowen.
