Netflix aired a promo for its upcoming nature documentary “Our Planet” during Super Bowl LIII.
Narrated by David Attenborough and produced by U.K.-based Silverback Films, the eight-episode Netflix series follows in the footsteps of the groundbreaking doc “Planet Earth,” which also cast Attenborough and was made with members of Silverback’s team. The end of the ad teases an April release date.
Airing during the game’s third quarter and created in-house, this 30-second spot takes a 180-degree turn from Netflix’s Super Bowl ad last year, which was for its upcoming sci-fi horror film “The Cloverfield Paradox.”
Netflix is one of three major streaming services that aired Super Bowl commercials this year, with Amazon Prime Video and Hulu both also creating spots for their original series.
