Norwegian Cruise Line’s 2019 Super Bowl ad invites viewers to “feel free to come alive.”
The 30-second spot from BBDO Atlanta, highlights some of the cutting-edge amenities on NCL’s fleet of 17 ships, including acrobatics shows, indoor pools and on-board go kart racing. It also touts some of the cruise line’s booking incentives, such as free open bar passes and free airfare to embarkation ports.
The commercial was run in conjunction with a social media-based contest that saw NCL give away eight, seven-night cruises on its two newest ships. To win, Super Bowl viewers had to respond to online trivia questions with the hashtag #CruiseNorwegian.
“Good to Be Free” is NCL’s first Super Bowl ad since 1994, when it created a spot so sexually explicit that NBC demanded it be censored before airing during the game.
