Robinhood made its Super Bowl debut while in the middle of the Reddit-driven GameStop stock frenzy.
Despite being villainized after restricting users from selling shares during the market upheaval, Robinhood went ahead with its planned commercial aimed at first-time stock buyers.
“You don’t need to become an investor, you were born one,” an announcer says.
The goal of the ad was to make investment accessible at the entry level. It came at a time when more and more people began investing while stuck at home during the pandemic.
