In Snickers’ 2020 Super Bowl ad, the candy brand extended its long-standing “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” message to more than just individuals—it decided to take on the world.
In the 30-second ad from BBDO New York, the Mars Wrigley-owned brand addresses a range of the world’s ills, from odd baby names to grown men riding scooters; all problems that, the brand surmises, can be solved by dropping a larger-than-life Snickers bar into a massive hole in the ground.
Snickers released an extended, decidedly more political 45-second cut of its ad in the week leading up to Super Bowl LIV. The brand last appeared during the Big Game with a live spot starring Adam Driver that ran in 2017.
