T-Mobile's second spot of Super Bowl 2021, “Family Drama,” features “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson competing in a (sort of) friendly game of flag football, going head to head against his own mother.
“Team Anthony” and “Team Mama” battle it out for the championship, featuring Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Decked out in uniforms featuring T-Mobile’s signature pink, Anthony and Mama both want to bring home the victory, and they’re willing to resort to trash talk, or even threats, to secure the trophy.
The message of the commercial: T-Mobile wants customers to trust them to communicate all of their family drama.
T-Mobile aired another spot, called “Family Drama,” in the 2021 game. It also went up against Verizon, which aired a commercial focused on the power of 5G in gaming.
