Verizon "Can’t Blame the Lag"
Samuel L. Jackson stars in Verizon’s 2021 Super Bowl ad, “You Can’t Blame the Lag,” as an animated avatar in a multiplayer video game. The 30-second commercial once again promotes Verizon’s 5G, which has been at the center of other recent Big Game ads from the wireless carrier. This time, the focus is on how 5G improves the gaming experience.
This marked Verizon’s fourth consecutive Super Bowl ad. It went up against T-Mobile, whose multiple commercials in the 2021 game poked fun at how poor connection can cause catastrophe.
