Verizon "Goodbye Cable"
In a nod to one of his signature roles, “The Cable Guy” star Jim Carrey portrays, yes, a cable guy in Verizon’s Super Bowl LVI commercial. He tries to get a woman to allow him to install cable internet in her apartment, but she tells him he doesn’t need it because she’s got Verizon 5G internet. Carrey checks it out and is extremely skeptical—“Reception’s good, but I’ll come back tomorrow and double check,” he says, dashing out of the apartment with his fingers in his ears so he can’t hear the woman’s objections.
Bryan Buckley directed the third-quarter spot. (Buckley also helmed Super Bowl LVI ads for Toyota and BMW.)
